Frequently Asked Questions

Requirements for obtaining documents from the Czech Republic

The requirements depend on the document you request and the registry or government office it comes from.

The first scenario involves obtaining documents from public registries in the Czech Republic. Public registries are accessible to anyone who requests information. This includes the Czech Commercial Register (for legal entities), the Trade Register (for entrepreneurs), and the Cadastre of Real Estate. In these cases, we only need basic information about the person or entity you are inquiring about.

The second scenario involves retrieving documents that contain personal information from restricted registries. These registries are accessible only to the individual or organization concerned, or to a third party with a power of attorney. This category includes all documents from Czech civil registry offices and criminal record certificates from the Czech Republic. In such cases, we will need a power of attorney from the individual concerned (or their relatives). A power of attorney can always be arranged – we have solutions for every situation.

Finally, the third scenario involves certifying something directly from the individual, such as a power of attorney or a copy of a personal document. In these rare cases, the person will need to appear in person, usually before a notary.

How quickly can documents be obtained from the Czech Republic?

Processing is generally quick. However, it depends on the document type and the registry it comes from.

For public registry documents that require no special authorization, we can usually obtain them very quickly, typically within 1–2 business days. We always work as quickly as possible.

When the procedure requires a power of attorney, additional time will be needed to have it notarized and delivered to the Czech Republic. The exact duration varies from case to case – usually between 3 and 5 days, but sometimes up to 2–3 weeks. Contact us to discuss your specific situation, and we will be happy to assist.
